General Course Description
The course is taught in a context of the
five elements and the three principals ,
deepening and broadening applications which
were introduced in the APP course. We will
go into process oriented bodywork as a new
way to focus on the elements.
Several weekends will be devoted to
structural work, and biodynamic craniosacral
therapy and there will be an in depth
exploration of the nervous systems
Participants will practice skills in
supervised clinics as well as in a student
practicum. Supervision, giving and receiving
sessions and guided feedback will be a
strong emphasis throughout the program.
Interspersed throughout the program will be
classes in theory and principals, business,
ethics, energetic exercise, evaluation and
integration (assessment), communication and
facilitation and nutrition.
The
Communication and Facilitation classes
include skills from
Re-Evaluation Counseling, Rosen Method,
Focusing, Psychosynthesis, dreamwork, loving
presence, trauma healing and other models.
Group Process is an integral part of the
training.
The course is designed with an emphasis on
education, supporting a personally enriching
experience for participants. Skills for
becoming a practitioner, should a graduate
decide to go in this direction, are included
in the training as well, following the
requirements set forth in the APTA standards
for practice.
